TITLE : Supplier Operations Engineer

DUTIES : FCA US LLC seeks a Supplier Operations Engineer based out of our office at 1000 Chrysler Drive Auburn Hill, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Job Duties: Responsible for ensuring all supplied parts are robust, repeatable and conform to dimensional and performance requirements; ensuring operational efficiency and execution of the supply base and preparing our suppliers with necessary knowledge and support; partnering with suppliers to review manufacturing processes, developing quality systems, and ensuring the highest quality components will be provided for our vehicles; providing on-site support at supplier's location and FCA assembly plants; working cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected; driving change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve component issues, drive warranty reduction, and oversee continuous improvement effort; ensuring component suppliers' processes are robust and capable and meet capacity (run rate) projections; administering key component quality milestones; and leading problem-solving activities with internal and external organizations. **Position requires domestic travel up to 25% of the time**
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and 2 years of experience in job offered or related Supplier Quality Engineering. Experience must include: APQP/PPAP process, Control plan, SPC, PFMEA, Corrective action process, and GD&T; Working with World Class Manufacturing (WCM)/ Continuous Improvement methodology; Executing structured problem solving techniques, including 3L5W, Kepner Tregoe Problem Solving, Shainin Red”X”, and Design of Experiment; Working with Engine systems components (Fuel system and Engine cooling system); and Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt.
