Responsibilities

  • Works in close coordination with the RE Center’s Executive Director and Program Manager and appropriate College staff to support the administrative needs and projects of the Center. Supports the RE Center Program Manager in communicating with external constituents including the Center’s advisory board and Trends conference committee members. Supports various professional and academic conferences, guest speaker and symposiums hosted by the RE Center and department faculty.
  • Execute the RE Center’s marketing plans and assist in the creation of marketing materials by College staff and vendors. Manage the Center’s social media accounts, including scheduling and posting relevant topics to maximize the Center and programs presence. Manage the Center’s calendar in coordination with the College of Business’ web designer.
  • Handles financial processes for the Real Estate Center within the guidance of the Program Manager and Executive Director. Responsible for project budgeting, contract processing, AR invoicing, expense payment, requisition, and PO creation according to FSU Foundation and University policy and procedures. Serves as primary P-Card proxy for Executive Director’s P-Card. Monitors all Foundation account funds and budgets in consultation with the Dean’s Office. Liaison between the Center and appropriate central offices to support these duties.
  • Serves as the primary contact for Real Estate Center visitors. Handles daily communication for the center, including managing e-mail and phone inquiries and routing as appropriate. Handles mass correspondence on behalf of the Center. Manages the Center’s mail, copying, printing, and on campus errands.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Power Point and SharePoint

What is a typical day/working environment like?
Every day will look a little different for this position. Typically, you will spend time checking e-mails and serve as the initial contact for the Center while organizing plans for events, brainstorming new ways to reach and engage alumni, connecting with campus and community partners, as well as students, alumni, and vendors. You will participate in weekly team meetings to collaborate with other Center team members and Real Estate faculty on program activities, marketing efforts, and department needs. Occasionally, you might travel to Center activities around the state to provide administrative support.
What the employee can expect in the first 60 - 90 days:
Your first few weeks you will learn all about Real Estate Center’s structure, mission, programs and activities and meet the team members you will be working closely with. We will get you up-to-speed on all things Real Estate Center: from the Board of Directors, student engagement, program and activities that we host throughout the year to the ways in which we connect with alumni and friends of the Center.
