QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN/DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.1 Follow all Safety and Food Safety guidelines
1.2 Review production, food safety, and quality documentation in support of daily finished goods release
1.3 Maintain open and frequent communication with stakeholders
1.3 Maintain records in accordance with USDA and company requirements
1.4 Assist in the continuous improvement and implementation of the Food Safety (HACCP) and Quality Systems (SQF)
1.5 Support and maintain document control in keeping with the SQF standard
1.6 Support the QA team through occasional mentoring, training and information sharing
1.7 Other duties as assigned
ADA / PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
2.1 Must be able to focus on details and make logical assessments
2.2 Work cohesively within a diverse population
2.3 Work in a fast paced environment and budget time accordingly
2.4 Inquire and investigate nonconformities to ensure completeness and accuracy of food safety and quality records
EXPERIENCE
3.1 5+ years Meat industry experience and USDA regulation familiarity
3.2 Low Acid Canned Foods Record review and document management
3.3 High School Diploma required
3.4 Experience in GFSI (SQF, BRC, FSSC22000 etc) schemed environment
3.5 Functional use of Word, Excel, and Access
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
4.1 Must be HACCP certified with specificity in Meat/Poultry
4.2 Detailed oriented, well organized, efficient and reliable
4.3 Must possess good computer skills and have working knowledge of MS-Word and Excel
4.4 Weekend work required
4.5 Fluent English speaking, reading and writing
WORKING CONDITIONS:
5.1 Majority of work is performed in an office setting
5.2 Work schedule Monday – Friday with Saturday as needed to remain compliant with record review requirements.
5.3 This role occasionally may be tasked to support QA and Food Safety functions in areas on-site that are not climate controlled
Job Type: Full-time
