We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a(n) Electrical Systems Engineering Technician within our core Product Development team to help support our Home Furniture business. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full-package solutions for the industry. As a(n) Electrical Systems Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to support design, integration, and validation activities for electrical systems and components for new product development and released product support. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by supporting the idea to launch process. The team you will be working with values collaboration combined with rigor and discipline to follow through and create positive outcomes.


So, what will you be doing as a(n) Electrical Systems Engineering Technician?

  • Perform component and system validation tests to ensure feature set and quality levels are met.
  • Record, document, and communicate validation results.
  • Prepare component test set-ups, equipment and data collection tools.
  • Support component prototype activities with internal and external resources.
  • Research, investigate, and drive cutting edge thinking to pursue industry innovative products, processes, and technology.
  • 10-15% domestic and international travel


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Associates degrees in Electronic/Electrical Technician preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
  • 1+ year of electronics/electrical technician experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of & experience with analog & digital devices, reading schematics and component data sheets, operating meters and use of other electronics related tools.
  • Communication skills: ability to capture detailed technical information and communicate with technical teammates.
  • Independent work: Ability to complete work in a development benchtop environment with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to prepare component test equipment and systems to complete validation procedures.
  • Ability to understand technical system requirements and compare validation results against stated design criteria.
  • Collection & communication of technical information with internal resources.
  • Written and verbal English language skills preferred.
