Full Job Description

Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing a commercial loan portfolio consistent with loan policies. The candidate must have good commercial credit skills and ability to cross sell bank’s products. The Commercial Loan Officer will represent the bank in its marketing area through active participation in community affairs.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new commercial loan relationships.
• Identify and develop new deposit relationships.
• Interview applicants to determine loan requirements and gather appropriate information for loan applications.
• Request applicant credit reports, reference checks and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation.
• Analyze applicant’s financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.
• Preparation of Commercial Loan Memos for presentation to appropriate loan committee for approval.
• Structure loan terms and conditions that meet the customers needs and the Bank’s lending guidelines.
• Prepare and/or review loan documentation prior to closing for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, professionals, and community organizations.
• Manage commercial loan portfolio for adherence to loan terms and conditions including maintaining and updating required financial information, documentation, and annual customer reviews.
• Managing loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collection of past due loans and portfolio monitoring.

Education and Qualifications Requirement:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Lending, with preference for existing experience within the Abilene service area.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related area.
