JOB SUMMARY
The Sourcing Analyst reviews material requirements, assesses quotations and issues purchase orders to appropriate supplier who can best supply the company's needs at the optimum lowest cost for commodity groups assigned. This role develops cost reductions and quality improvements to improve the company's competitive position.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports production departments with necessary raw material per most current schedule. Handles the purchase of MRO items, and Blanket Contracts as necessary to support plant operations
- Expedites delivery of material, processes Defective Material returns to suppliers, and determines opportunities for cost reductions.
- Develops requests for quotations for new items set up by Engineering.
- Reviews Material Requirements Plan output to develop necessary purchase orders for raw material to support production plan.
- Issues Purchase Orders to appropriate supplier.
- Assures that supplier can support company requirements.
- Maintains standard cost integrity.
- Processes change orders as dictated by Reschedule-Buy report to assure proper material arrives in sufficient time to meet production plan.
- Processes necessary Purchase Orders, changes, and cancellations as driven due to Engineering Change Orders on a timely basis.
- Assesses supplier effectiveness and stability to assure continuous support company’s needs.
- Researches new sources for new items as they are set up in the system.
- Controls raw material inventory level for assigned commodities.
- Develops cost reductions, through negotiations, and corporate programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of inventory control, negotiation, and business systems and management are required.
- Efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities,
- Demonstrate good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information, and be self-motivated. Requires a creative thinker with an eye for detail.
- Considerable judgment and ingenuity.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
- Associates degree in business or a related field
- 2-3 years experience in the purchasing or buying field in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in business
- APICS certification

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
