Wellness & Recovery Specialist

Location: Massachusetts

The Wellness & Recovery Specialist is responsible for engaging with community partners and building strategies with local stakeholders; providing education, strengthening relationships, and helping resolve case or broader systems issues. The Wellness & Recovery Specialist will support care coordination teams and connect members and caregivers with those who can provide insight and expertise to assist in overcoming challenges by managing activities focused on the Wellness and Recovery of Amerigroup members.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies opportunities for engagement of members and their families in forming a supportive, recovery network.
  • Partners with peer support services in the community to create referral pathways and links members to appropriate community peer support services.
  • Support care manager as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems.
  • Develop strategy for peer support programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Peer Specialist Certification required or willing to obtain certification within first 90 days of employment.
  • Must have experience working in the field of mental health and or substance abuse.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of care-coordination and case management concepts strongly preferred.
  • BA/BS or MBA preferred.
