The Outpatient Clinical Assessor conducts assessments via telehealth to determine proper level of care for substance abuse and mental health programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules clients and ensures financial responsibilities are reviewed
  • Understands and educates clients and staff on RCA's continuum of care
  • Complete individualized treatment plan goals and objectives within designated timeframes
  • Updates assessment trackers daily and communicates any noticeable trends to supervisor
  • Work collectively with the clinical team to engage, educate, and coordinate client care with the client, their identified supports, and community providers to ensure all services prescribed are implemented
  • Actively participate in the development and assessment of individual treatment and service plans
  • Completes intake Biopsychosocial Assessments, including all electronic forms required by RCA and/or third-party payors
  • Evaluates clients' mental and physical health, addiction severity, and/or problem behavior and assess their readiness for treatment and articulates clinical rationale for recommended level of care
  • Reviews and recommends treatment options with clients, including their families, if willing
  • Utilizes recognized evidence based therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, 12-Step, psychoanalytic, motivational interviewing, and stages of change
  • Familiar with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and can objectively discuss options with clients
  • Exhibit knowledge of all continuums of care, including admission assessment and continued stay criteria
  • Conducts Urine Drug Screens and breathalyzer
  • Attends treatment team and reviews new client clinicals with treatment team
  • Act as an advocate for all clients when working with external providers and speaking on their behalf
  • Performs Utilization Review tasks, completes utilization reviews, provides information at the request of other members, and communicates all utilization issues that may compromise client's treatment immediately to treatment team
  • Documents all work in the RCA Electronic Health Record, Avatar

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or another related human services field required
  • Licensure as LCSW, LPC, LCADC required.
  • Prior experience in a behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings serving culturally diverse populations required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the clinical interventions
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria, dual diagnosis and experience working with the eating disorder population#INDT

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
