This is a Full-time, in-person position located in Eastland, TX (NOT REMOTE) Must commute/relocate to Eastland, TX area.

Position Title: Operations Assistant Controller

Position summary:
The Operations Assistant Controller will possess an understanding of financial accounting standards and procedures. The individual in this position will apply their knowledge to properly provide analysis and recommendations to management. The right candidate will possess the ability to work in a fast pace, growing environment with a focus on reducing costs, improving revenue, and streamlining processes.

Tasks:

  • Analyze processes performed at shop locations regarding material management, purchasing, and billing
  • Provide recommendations and implement improvements to processes and systems
  • Analyze inventory counts and determine causes of variances and solutions
  • Possess an understanding of finance and accounting pertaining to sales, inventory, COGS and margin analysis
  • Review, investigate, and resolve errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items
  • Provide financial direction/support to shop managers/core management team
  • Aid in developing internal processes and best practices for overall financial reporting
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with location costs and inventory valuation
  • Review inputs to WIP calculation to ensure accuracy
  • Understanding of inventory concepts and controls
  • Reconcile accounts for month-end
  • Manage the Inventory system
  • Oversee shop activities as pertaining to accounting activities
  • Review and manage car file reconciliation to ensure accurate billing and coding
  • Represent accounting on project teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, eliminate error, etc.
  • Grasp job costing and apply concepts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Travel required for location visits (30% - 40% Travel)

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral format and execute with minimal supervision
  • Organizational skills to meet all deadlines throughout the month and during month end
  • Database management
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Manage members of the accounting team and operations
  • Excellent time management, communication, and leadership
  • Self-Motivated
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment due to growth

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
