Landscape Solutions is seeking an experienced full time Landscape Designer to join our growing team. Landscape Solutions specializes in design and installation of landscapes and outdoor living areas throughout middle Tennessee. We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented designer that has a passion for outdoor spaces, plants, and environments.

The Landscape Designer is responsible for carrying out design work assigned by the Lead Designer. The Landscape Designer will be asked to perform the following tasks including, but not limited to taking site measurements and photographs, create base map documents, create concept and design development drawings for client presentations, and create construction document details for our install teams. Successful candidates should be highly motivated and thrive in a collaborative environment. A positive attitude, leadership abilities and excellent communication skills are a must.

Primary Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Assist the Lead Designer and the design team in the production, organization, coordination, and accuracy of all design and presentation documents
  • Responsible for developing practical and functional design solutions that create enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces
  • Work in a pre-planned and efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame while staying in communication with the clients
  • Prepare landscape plans and details, developing them from conceptual design to final design, incorporating all components of a full landscape plan including but not limited to: planting, paving, grading, lighting and design selection or accompanying landscape elements such as fencing, pools, furnishings, fire and water features
  • Create landscape and hardscape designs using AutoCAD and Land FX software
  • Assist with multiple projects in various stages of development
  • Collaborate with the design team, project manager, and production manager
  • Assist in managing client expectations and maintain a commitment to design excellence
  • Connect with the client between phases to answer any questions and update design progress
  • Track design and admin time for each project
  • Perform weekly follow ups with the Lead Designer as well as with clients

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years minimum landscape design experience
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or comparable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Office, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite Programs, and AutoCAD. Land FX is a plus.
  • SketchUp software experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills (including good hand-drawing skills)
  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, including (but not limited to): hardscapes, grading, drainage, and planting design
  • Knowledge of plant material and native plants a plus
  • Goal oriented, self-motivated, high achiever
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Capability to plan and prioritize with meticulous attention to detail within time constraints
  • Must possess excellent people skills and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop and maintain open, two-way communication with all team members and clients
  • Strong problem-solving skills and follow through
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy
  • Attend and actively participate in all necessary meetings
  • Ability to focus and maintain job responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
