We have an immediate opening for a Drafting Coordinator at our Flagship plant in Springdale, AR. This position is a key part of our Technical Services Department in overseeing and managing the outsourced drafting vendors for accuracy. In addition, this role will use computer-aided drafting software and established drafting standards to develop 2D/3D/BIM layouts, drawings, and designs that meet engineering specifications in addition to reviewing architectural, structural drawings and specifications, understands product usage and design for application, and retrieve information to complete drawing, layout, or design.


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Uses detail drawings or engineering specifications to dimension, scale or line locate.
  • Lead and execute small to medium standard, modified standard and custom projects.
  • Ability to check shop drawings of others using established drafting standards ability to train others in 3D/BIM.
  • Read/interpret as sold material proposals and set up/run standard meetings to start project work.
  • Prepare shop drawings and/or part drawings for standard, modified standard, and custom projects using established drafting standards.
  • Incorporate marked up corrections from internal and external customers with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare die drawings for projects and customer request.
  • Require knowledge of a variety of standard products and procedures.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, design drawings and sketches, and review with team leaders to ensure correct interpretations.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of manufacturing, installation, and glazing processes.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain files and records of drawings.
  • Maintain current set of Architectural and Structural drawings.
  • Download from FTP sites as needed.
  • Understand specification sections for a project to ensure correctness of shop drawings.
  • Identify problem areas/nonstandard areas of project by reviewing architectural and structural drawings and be able to problem solve these areas.
  • Communicate requests for information (RFI’s) after review of architectural and structural drawings to the project manager or customer, if necessary, offer department improvements to reduce claims and improve efficiency of shop drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED from a qualified educational institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing, construction, or architectural experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with AutoCAD/Revit/Inventor
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Design from an accredited institution.
  • Drafting Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in curtainwall/ window wall design projects.
