The
Carpentry Specialist will work
Full Time, Days and assists in the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of all cabinetmaking services including cabinets, tabletops, counters, shelves, cabinet mock ups, panel products (flat or raised) finishes, overlays, Plexiglas fabrication, furniture repair, casework, worktops, custom pieces, etc.
- The Carpentry Specialist will share activities in the routine workday under the direction of Supervisor- Carpenter Shop.
- The Carpentry Specialist assists with inspection, maintenance and repair of buildings of the main hospital campus and allied properties.
- The Carpentry Specialist recommends to the Supervisor-Carpenter Shop, the purchase of and adequate stocking of supplies, materials, tools, parts, and manuals necessary for the accomplishment of the shops responsibilities.
- The Carpentry Specialist keeps informed regarding medical applications of mechanical equipment and read pertinent literature.
- The Carpentry Specialist will attend educational conferences, training programs, department and divisional meetings.

Education/Qualifications:
- Shall be a high school graduate and have equivalent trade school education with course work in skilled crafts or trades or an equivalent combination of relevant education / experience.
Experience:
- Five years experience as a carpenter in both residential and commercial settings.
Licensure/Certificates:
- Clean, valid New York State drivers license.
Skills:
- General use of hand and power tools related to the trade.
- Perform work in renovation, design and installation of cabinets and millwork in the facility.
- Provide technical and historic assistance to contractors and Project Managers.
Physical Requirements:
- Moderately heavy lifting and physical demands will be encountered intermittently.
- Normally requires protective gear such as hardhat, gloves, eye protection, and other protective apparel.
