Position Title:
Career & Life Coach Coordinator

Reports To: Academy/District Director

Employment Type: This position is full-time and funded through Title 1 funds. Employment is contingent on the yearly categorical allocation from Clark County School District.

Position Start Date: Jul 1, 2023

Location: All three Clark County locations (North, East, and Southeast)


Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Years of Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience
  • License/Certification: *Nevada School Counseling credential required*
  • Background Check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor individual post-secondary plans for each GC to support their success in life beyond;
  • Facilitate one to one meetings and supplemental workshops that provide exposure to and preparation for college and career opportunities;
  • Support navigating the financial aid process to ensure college is an affordable reality;
  • Assist the GC with career and college planning as well as vocational and military arms services;
  • Work in conjunction with the CTE lead to implement career pathway partnerships that provide opportunities for job fair participation, job-shadowing, internships for GCs and apprenticeship programs;
  • Provide guidance and feedback on of resumes, cover letters, and strategies for job interviews for GCs;
  • Coordinate referrals to WIOA and other community partners;
  • Implement weekly individual counseling and workshops that focus on topics based on GPI results that help eliminate students' non-academic barriers to success and support their social and emotional needs.
