Job Description
Under the supervision of the Section Supervisor, performs ordering, procurement, receiving and processing of patient specimens. This position requires practical and theoretical knowledge of phlebotomy procedures. Patient contact and specimens from patients may include age groups from infants to adult-geriatric.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Vocational schooling in medical sciences or previous phlebotomy training preferred. Basic computer experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior hospital experience preferred. Ability to communicate well with physicians, supervisors, nurses and co-workers. Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations.
