Job Purpose and Impact

The Research Scientist, will plan, organize and perform scientific research projects in a particular scientific or academic field. In this role, you will develop theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and relevant pattern for research into potential new products, solutions or inventions. Key Accountabilities

Coordinate sample preparation and performs well-established physical-chemical analyses to produce reliable and precise data.
Create and conduct experiments and analyzes results and data, including writing reports within agreed deadlines.
Participate actively in method development experiments.
Present ongoing work and findings to senior staff and external events and summarizes the nature and methodology of the research.
Collaborate with industry or academic specialists to apply the results of research and develop new techniques.
Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in food science, (physical) chemistry, material sciences, chemical engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Beginning-to-working knowledge of research techniques.
Lab experience in the field of physical-chemical characterization in food research.
One or more year of related work experience.
