Company Description

We are SGS – the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company. We are recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. Our 93,000 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.

SGS has been introduced to the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology through its collaboration with Stellantis (formerly FCA). Whilst WCM deals mainly with manufacturing processes, it will be adapted to SGS and implemented by SGS’s new World Class Services team.

The primary objective is to refine the service quality to meet customer expectations by maintaining continuous improvement in all areas of processes. When successfully implemented, the WCM methodology will help SGS tackle most forms of waste and loss, focusing on achieving zero accidents, zero waste, zero defects, zero breakdowns and zero inventory.

WCM can be described as a structured methodology that encompasses the entire organization, taking into consideration most aspects, defined in 10 technical pillars and 10 managerial pillars.

The SGS WCS journey has already begun, with the selection of the first 20 sites representing SGS’s geographical footprints and across businesses.
