Policy Making Responsibility - The Weaver will have no policy making responsibility.

Decision Making Responsibility - Routine decisions related to prioritization and product quality.

Supervisory Responsibility - There is no supervisory responsibility associated with this position.

Safety – Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations and policy procedures. Employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Complying with all safety rules and regulations
  • Reporting any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor
  • Maintaining floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities
  • Communicating to management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment properly and reporting any defective PPE
  • Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders
Essential Responsibilities The essential functions of this position may include any or all of the following to be performed primarily alone.

Tasks
  • Ensure that looms are in good operating condition to prevent unnecessary stops.
  • Periodically cycle/inspect looms both front and back to detect possible defects and prevent long running defects.
  • Identify and document any defects on the cut ticket and/or flag as required.
  • Ensure that looms are running defect free after any corrective action. Document and/or flag if needed
  • Ensure selvages are running per work instructions.
  • Keep warm ends as straight as possible for optimum/quality yield.
  • Ensure that cut tickets match actual running styles and wefts.
  • Repair any weft/warp end and restart looms without weaving defects.
  • Ensure that all changes are documented throughout the weaving process.
  • Ensure that weft is running in its proper path.
  • Work closely with Loom Technicians in order to improve quality and yield. Communicate with fabric inspectors in order to anticipate any potential defects.
  • Participate in meetings to improve quality and yield
Ensure efficient communication during shift change-overs.

Essential Job Activities

It is essential that the Weaver spend approximately 95% of his/her time at the Loom Machine and 5% spent cleaning/recycling.

Essential Physical Demands and Working Conditions2

In this position, the employee will be subjected to physical demands requiring:
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull up to 20 - 22 lbs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervisory direction
  • Ability to perform standard body movements2: frequent standing and walking around o occasional forward bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing o Ability to use visual acuity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to work in an environment where temperature varies in range.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate to loud plant noise levels
Hours of work – The normal work hours for this position are 12 hour rotating shifts. Overtime is required.

Evaluation criteria The weaver’s performance will be accessed periodically as deemed necessary by management, but no less than annually. Evaluation criteria will include but not necessarily limited to:
  • The fulfillment of the essential functions described above
  • Attendance
