Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the head of Total Rewards will serve as the strategic leader and trusted advisor on all compensation and benefit matters for TBC Corporation, both domestic and international. Partnering with Executives, their teams, and the HR Business Partners to create a strategic rewards scheme, methodologies and approaches, considering business and HR priorities, industry pay practices, and emerging market pay trends. The Total Rewards leader will bring progressive thinking and effective design, delivery and administration of the TBC Compensation and Benefit programs in order to attract top talent and maintain the organizations objectives and competitive position in the marketplace. This includes oversight of all Compensation including executive and deferred compensation, job grading and variable incentive programs. Benefits responsibilities include all health, welfare, and retirement plans, leaves of absence administration and vendor management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CHRO and Senior Executives to ensure that overall total rewards strategy and all compensation and benefit programs align with and support the corporate business strategies.
  • Develop and implement all aspects of the total rewards strategy for the enterprise, assuring attractiveness, internal equity, external competitiveness, policies and compliance with government regulations
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefit programs, policies and guidelines and ensuring they are market competitive, cost effective, aligned with corporate goals and comply with company policies, federal legislation and other government and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direction and lead administration for compensation programs including annual salary planning/merit increases process, salary structures, variable pay and other incentive programs (STI, LTI) to ensure alignment with company's goals, initiatives and budgets.
  • Maintain a consolidated database of all TBC incentive plans and be the liaison with the accounting team in order to ensure all incentive plans are documented, properly accrued for and reviewed and approved by legal.
  • Direct the design, implementation, maintenance and cost control of employee benefits plans, including health and welfare plans, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, life, and disability programs, leaves of absence, employee assistance and Wellness Programs
  • Direct and execute all aspects of annual open enrollment, life, disability and leave of absence programs
  • Manage and Partner with external vendors and consultants in both compensation and benefit arenas to ensure the company is positioned competitively and stays current on trends/changes in both the utility industry and general industry.
  • Manage annual auditing process for Benefit and retirement plans
  • Manage the job evaluation process, and library of Job Specifications by role, compensation analysis requests, and other compensation studies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree in HR or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of Compensation and Benefit experience demonstrating extensive knowledge of
    leading practices and trends
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or advanced coursework in compensation and benefits is preferred
  • Strong executive presence and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence senior level leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues and business partners.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and seeks to understanding the latest trends in compensation and provides ideas and recommendations to the broader team.
  • Experience analyzing looking high and deep and presenting to executives and employees on all total rewards matters is required.
  • Strong results orientation, adaptability/flexibility and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to critically think – analyze, synthesize and evaluate information to help the business grow and succeed.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation skills; including the ability to influence through use of compelling facts, thought-provoking discussion and logic
  • Proven relationship management skills, strong track record of ability to build trust and credibility through communication, actions and presence
  • Strong analytical approach in translating concepts into more concrete frameworks and actionable solutions
  • Ability to cross collaborate across other corporate functional areas such as accounting, finance, legal, and payroll teams
  • Understands how to effectively conduct a Human Resources due diligence and effectively develop integration strategies with respect to Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors.
  • Excellent collaboration and consulting skills at all levels of an organization; ability to guide, coach and influence at these levels with particular emphasis on senior management.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead by example in terms of creating an exciting environment for employees and the company to ensure collective success.
