The Unit Helper will provide assistance to the residents of Seneca Hill Manor in a supportive role to the Certified Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses.

The Unit Helper (UH) will perform the following duties:

1. Making residents’ beds as necessary

2. Answering residents call lights

3. Provide customer service assistance to the residents as able and necessary

4. Timely distribute and assist residents as able with resident meals at the designated mealtimes

5. Assist in the distribution and consumption of nourishments for residents

6. Assist in any medical transportation needs for the residents

7. Assist in maintaining the residents’ rooms in a safe, free from physical hazard environment

8. Assist the residents’ room to be staged in an organized manner. This includes dressers, closets, rooms, etc.

9. Complete other duties as assigned within scope of practice

The Unit Helper (UH) will be responsible for demonstrating a working knowledge of:

1. Seneca Hill Manor facility policies and procedures as they pertain to certain duties

2. Resident rights and abuse reporting requirements

3. Seneca Hill Manor core principles of infection control

4. Seneca Hill Manor safety policies and life safety code policies, i.e. fire and emergency drills.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age and have a desire/interest in working with the elderly. Must be able to function independently. Needs good organizational and communication skills.
