  • Ensure the temple reflects the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience
  • Maintain standards established by the First Presidency
  • Provides Functional Direction to contractors, consultants, and volunteers
  • Provide functional leadership to all department employees (Assistant Facilities Managers, Custodial, Grounds, Security)
  • Ensures all Operation and Maintenance Functions meet standards (Custodial, Grounds and Security)
  • Project management responsibilities for facilities, systems, and grounds by providing inspections, reporting, reviewing compliance with drawings and specifications, liaison with local government, permitting, monitoring project schedule and coordinating furniture/materials delivery and installation.
  • Manages Contracts and Provides direction to contractors and consultants
  • Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
  • Most Senior Functional Expert in the facility
  • Responsible for the entire operation and maintenance of the temple and auxiliary facilities and operates, maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment assigned by department leadership.
  • Works closely with and provides maintenance support to the Temple Recorder and Temple President.

  • Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
  • Responsible, in partnership with HR, to hire or fire employees and recommends advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line
  • Typically manages 1-2 additional employees
  • Responsible for all aspects of Temple maintenance (i.e. Building, Grounds, Custodial, Security)
  • Responsible for creation and execution of annual plan, annual budget, managing operational costs, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, audio-visual, and computer systems.
  • In addition to the temple, facilities may include Temple President Residence, Patron Housing, Visitor's Center, Meetinghouse etc.
  • Responsible for implementing temple maintenance guides and materials and testing improved maintenance methods, systems and equipment.
  • Responsible for department costs
  • Participates in all final close out procedures for project(s) including as-built drawing, archiving, close out process, letter of substantial completion, warranty process, and letter of recommendation
  • Ensure project(s) are completed in conformance to design documents and standards requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships with church leaders, department leaders, area leaders, peers, and contractors
  • Responsible for performing and submitting a quarterly Temple Evaluation to determine the condition of each facility on site
  • Initiates, develops and manages contractor relationships
  • Ability to follow and implement established processes (ex. Finance, HR, Facility etc.)
  • Provides regular status reports on project progress, quality, issues, and procurement of materials and equipment
  • Monitor project(s) schedule to ensure completion is within approved timelines
  • Responsible for the compliance of safety and health requirements, documentation, and programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required
  • Four year degree in facilities management, project management or related field or equivalent demonstrated work experience
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills with the ability to direct physical plant operations and deliver results
  • Broad understanding of facilities systems and processes (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry etc.)
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies within specified guidelines
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be endowed with a current Temple Recommend.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a temple
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Effective verbal and written communication and computer literacy
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
