Private Equity Technology– Senior Manager

The opportunity

We help the private equity backed companies transform and modernize their technology landscape by focusing on innovative ways to optimize governance, service management, intelligent automation, digital transformation, workforce, and technology platform modernization. As a key member of our Private Equity Technology sector team, you will help private equity backed companies and their Sponsors enable resiliency, growth and transformation through foundational technology optimization, automation of key processes and the modernization and revamp of their technical stack.


Your key responsibilities

You will work closely with our Strategy and Transactions and broader account teams to understand the Private Equity Firm's investment thesis and deal hypothesis to help create and deliver differentiated technology and digitally enabled strategies to create value for the portfolio company and their Sponsor. You will collaborate with IT leaders at the PE Firm and Portfolio Company to architect and deliver modern IT operating models that align with the strategic business objectives and drive value-add, business enabling, revenue generative activities. You will collaborate with EY's broad eco-system of alliance partners to bring differentiated solutions to our PE's and their portfolio companies.


Skills and attributes for success

A Senior Manager is responsible for delivering a portfolio of engagements across the full spectrum of Technology Modernization including: Technology Strategy and Operating Model design, Enterprise Platform architecture and optimization, Intelligent Automation design and implementation, Data and analytics, IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Configure), Technology Asset Management and Technology revamp.


To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions or in a private equity backed company
  • Previous management consulting experience required.
  • Deep understanding of technology management frameworks and operating models.
  • Deep Understanding of leading Governance and IT Service Management models (e.g. ITIL)
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise between business, technology, and vendor teams.
  • Extensive experience advising senior stakeholders on development & implementation of IT strategy, digital transformation, Agile operating model, & customer experience frameworks
  • Experience coordinating complex transformations across multiple workstreams and audiences encompassing the business, technology, and vendor partners.
  • A proven ability to lead stakeholders and successfully manage technology teams
  • Demonstrated thought leader including but not limited to Enterprise Platforms, IT Service Management, Intelligent automation, and emerging technologies.


Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience working with a Big 4, a boutique technology consulting firm or extensive industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross functional teams in an IT Operations environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced transactions oriented team environment and ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Experience participating in development & implementation of IT strategy, digital transformation, Technology governance structures, and IT Operating models.
  • Experience and demonstratable results in professional services sales
  • Refined executive presentation skills focused on driving business outcomes
  • Differential experience in one or more sectors
  • The ability to engage a cross section of competencies e.g. risk management, cybersecurity, finance etc. to bring the best solutions to our clients
  • Experience engaging with alliance partners and leveraging alliance partner relationships

What we offer


We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $163,400 to $373,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $$196,100 to $424,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
