Peerless Technologies is looking for an Social Media Outreach Specialist to support the AFWERX SBIR/STTR Program Office as part of the Department of the Air Force. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment, providing direct support and coordination to meet project deadlines.   • Help to promote programs and initiatives by producing and disseminating top-notch communication materials including online digital media, website material, short-form articles, videos, newsletters, brochures, outreach campaign and presentation materials
  • Work with subject matter experts to synthesize content and write communications for a technical/scientific organization
  • Create, proofread, format, and revise content for clarity and desired voice
  • Assist in developing public awareness and outreach initiatives
  • Determine effective outreach methods to introduce new initiatives and programs
  • Prepare a variety of reports, articles, public information releases, etc
  • Understand video production to support senior video producer in developing visual/digital media
  • Develop presentations for executive and other high-level audiences
  • Coordinate support from reach-back specialists in videography, technical writing, social media, web site management, etc. to meet project deadlines
  • Engage and interact with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure questions, information requests, and issues are handled appropriately and in a timely manner

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related business-field from an accredited College/University
  • 3-5 years of outreach, communications, and/or marketing experience or similar activities
  • Understanding of website best practices and website development
  • Understanding of social media best practices
  • Understanding of email campaign development and execution best practices
  • Excellent organizational, planning, presentation, and program development skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external leaders/personnel
  • Creative, open-minded, and enthusiastic about seeking new solutions to challenges
  • Expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Provide a portfolio/examples of recent (writing/digital banners/web and social media content) work
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with SharePoint management processes
  • Solid foundation in using the English language (oral and written)
  • Must have excellent communications and expository writing skills
  • This position will require occasional travel to Dayton Ohio office.
  • Secret security clearance, or eligibility for secret clearance
