Stoked Wood Fired Pizza Co. has immediate openings for Full-time Servers for our busy Brookline location. We are located just steps from the Washington Sq stop on the T's Greenline. We are a fast paced award winning full service restaurant with a strong cocktail and craft beer program. Boston Magazine's Best of Boston "Best Pizza" 2015, Improper Bostonian's Boston's Best "Best Pizza" 2016. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Most shifts are finished around 10pm but no later than midnight.

Experience is a plus but a positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must.

Position Overview

As the primary point of contact for our guests, the server must make sure that each and every guest has a hassle-free and enjoyable time. A solid knowledge of our menu and of beer, wine, and cocktails is necessary and will contribute to the overall experience our guests have with us. As a member of a team you will be expected to help out in other areas of the restaurant if your current responsibilities are fulfilled.

Essential Functions, Skills and Knowledge

  • Nurture an atmosphere conducive to creating repeat customers and regular clientele
  • Promote the Stoked Pizza brand
  • Stay active and knowledgeable about industry/beverage trends and seasonal ingredients
  • Welcome guests as they enter and thank them when they leave
  • Maintain a clean and presentable appearance
  • Care for the dining guests in the restaurant
  • Clean and reset tables
  • Bring out food for both dining guests and takeout orders
  • Take phone calls and be able to answer questions that guests may have
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the food and drink menu
  • Always keep a welcoming and friendly attitude while on the floor
  • Be available to help other members of the team
  • Expand your knowledge beyond what's just listed on the menu
  • Serve alcoholic drinks responsibly. Understand how to properly ID someone and know when to stop serving drinks
  • Carefully and knowledgeably handle allergen concerns
  • Show up to work with a cash bank able to make change for cash payments
  • Maintain a clean and organized section
  • Regularly check the bathroom conditions and stock supplies
  • Efficiently handle the daily prep before and after each shift
  • Follow daily cleaning with care and attention to detail

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Must have a passion for creating memorable hospitality experiences
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Possess knowledge of food preparation techniques, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge and passion for wine & beer. Understanding and passion for craft cocktails & spirits
  • Be able to effectively work as a team and be able to help out in other positions if needed
  • Understanding of Toast POS and OpenTable softwares
  • Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money
  • Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to move around during entire shift
  • Must have a valid alcohol awareness certification or be capable of obtaining certification
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $45.00 per hour
