In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision or engineering oversight on a moderate level of engineering support tasks.
  • Prepares draft updates and/or maintenance to existing MES factory instructions. Including changes to and the addition or deletion of operations from the instructions for concurrence by the Process Engineers.
  • Draft new MES routings with minimal assistance from Process Engineers. Adhere to factory instruction standards as defined in Command Media. Review with other parties such as Production Control, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Product Engineering and Operations before final release to minimize subsequent changes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to work instructions.
  • Reviews design definitions for consistency and administrative accuracy. Suggests improvement for function, manufacturability, and cost. Facilitates reviews by process and quality engineering.
  • Create draft production or inspection tool orders for engineering concurrence and follow up on the procurement process and schedules.
  • Perform capital equipment inventory and need assessment required by accounting and others and provides suggestions for improved equipment utilization.
  • Assist project managers with the facilitation and preparation of paperwork and reports suggesting cost management, generation of Cost Price Estimates (CPEs), risk assessments, and tracking against cost and schedule requirements.
  • Review, suggest improvement opportunities for, and update departmental JHAs.
  • Review and revise related manufacturing, process or inspection documents.
  • Add, revise and work with the Addendum Index as necessary or directed.
  • Prepare and assist in the delivery of training and documentation of shop floor or inspection workforce.
  • Work with Configuration Management to ensure drawing and specification change information is documented appropriately into factory instructions

You Must Have:

  • Two or more years’ experience in a similar position working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors degree or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
  • PC literacy in MS office products.
  • U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy Q-level security clearance.

  • Ability to interface effectively with Internal organizations.
  • Understanding of KCNSC processes and knowledge of KCNSC product.
