SCADA Senior Controls Programmer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Creates complete projects and solutions utilizing the tools and modules of the Ignition software or any other Industrial HMI software package.
- Implements the design of an industrial automation system with emphasis on Database/Server programming and integration with PLCs and HMIs.
- Follows document control procedures for revisions, submittals, and Kasa design process flow.
- Industrial network configuration and setup for different communication protocols.
- Understands Industrial and commercial networking hardware, topology and configuration.
- Configures server hardware.
- Works alone or with project team and communicate well with the project lead and or project manager.
- Writes operations manuals, user manuals, O&M manuals, etc.
- On-site startup and commissioning of systems. May involve 10 to 20 hour shifts per day as required to meet specific start-up schedules
- Turns in all required Kasa paper work each week when in the field or on start-up.
- Attends and actively participates in project meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of goods and services to both internal and external customers.
- Understands and follows Kasa Engineering Process Manual procedures.

Education & Experience
- Associates degree from an accredited college or technical school; or two years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting databases preferred.
- Competency in Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL preferred.
- Competency in Windows Server 2003 / 2008 preferred.
- Programming familiarity with one or more of the following: C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java required.
- Oracle Experience, any other database technologies not listed above preferred.
- Linux Server Administration a plus.
- PLC programming experience preferred.
- Certifications (Databases, Server, Networking) a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have a desire to work in the field of industrial controls.
- Successful applicants will be involved with electrical design; programming and field start up of the system if required.
- Travel may be required depending on the project, and is a job requirement of all engineering positions.
Physical Demands:
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to occasionally climb permanent and temporary stairs, climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally requires use of construction personnel hoists. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job regularly requires use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weight. Employee must be capable of using tools, and able to help install equipment and make adjustments/modifications to that equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction worksite where the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in this work environment can be moderate to very loud.
