Showroom Sales Associate (full-time)

H3K Home+Design – an exciting home furnishings retailer with showrooms on south Palm Canyon drive in downtown Palm Springs and on Highway 111 in Palm Desert is looking for part-time Showroom Sales Associate to join our team. H3K Home offers Palm Springs inspired furnishings and accessories that are modern, affordable, stylish, and iconic. Our showrooms are fun, welcoming, and embody the essence of life in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley!

Primary responsibilities include:

• Being courteous and greeting and engaging shoppers in conversation throughout our showroom
• Uncovering customer’s needs through questions
• Offering solutions and unexpected options through knowledge of supplier’s offerings
• Navigating online resources efficiently to find solutions
• Working on small-scale design projects
• Working with other team members to unpack, receive merchandise, prepare displays and stock merchandise
• Cleaning and organizing showroom and stock areas
• Processing customer orders and take-home transactions using point of sale system
• Packaging and preparing merchandise for shipping
• Collecting data and information to enhance customer’s shopping experiences and to encourage future purchases
• Supporting & helping to coordinate special events such as off-site design & sales events, etc.

Other day-to-day expectations will arise requiring your attention. Your willingness to “wear lots of hats” and complete the “task-at-hand” is essential. This position requires critical thinking, strong judgement abilities and physical capabilities mixed with positivity and a "can do" approach.

You must be able to: climb ladders and stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for extended periods, move around showroom, push, pull, lift items up to 50 pounds, type, manipulate a computer mouse, grasp objects, talk to customers, and hear instructions, set up and tear down outdoor furniture displays daily, and interact with customers for short periods in the outdoors.

H3K Home is open from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Sunday (with extended hours in the weeks surrounding major holidays such as Christmas and special events such as Palm Springs Modernism Week). Compensation is hourly, and pay rate is determined based on potential contribution and experience.
