POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Assistant role serves as an integral part of the sales team with critical responsibilities throughout the sales process and sales operations. In this role you will be responsible for the development of viable prospects, owning an intricate sequencing process, generating new sales leads, and conducting initial outreach to build a strong sales pipeline.

This position entails an in-depth understanding of sales operations, assisting key team stakeholders and senior sellers by executing essential elements of the prospecting and lead generation process. Working closely with the sales leaders and sellers, you will identify new opportunities and clients across travel endemic and non-endemic verticals and craft effective outreach communications to secure meetings with prospects. A comprehensive understanding of the Hubspot platform will be required to effectively sequence key targets and categories in a methodical, but also strategic fashion.

Other core functions of this role include pre- and post-sales execution of media plans, schedules, and insertion orders. Additionally, the Sales Assistant will provide pipeline updates based on sales activities. Working closely with integrated marketing and client services, the SA will also provide sales collateral and decks, as well as mid- and post-campaign reports to sellers, and for distribution to clients.

As the cross-functional sales support specialist, the Sales Assistant will also conduct research, sharing relevant industry news, trends, insights, and seasonal promotions across all focus categories, and dissemination to sales and marketing teams.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with individual sellers to provide support across prospecting and lead generation functions
  • Work closely with sales leadership on special projects and day-to-day activities
  • Utilize email sequencing strategies and tactics to develop qualified leads and activate conversations; utilize customization as a fundamental tool in all communications
  • Support the sales team in day-to-day operations including the creation of media plans, insertion orders, custom decks, and campaign reports
  • Target a robust mix of brand direct and agency prospects, driving high response rates and scheduling meetings with key decision-makers
  • Utilize Hubspot as CRM for all prospecting and client activities; extract data to understand productivity and selling effectiveness; measure pipeline progress through all stages of the sales cycle
  • Leverage and our first-party data effectively in sequencing communications to prospects
  • Provide support across sales administrative needs, including sales reporting, Hubspot analytics, and campaign scheduling and delivery
  • Provide any necessary data or reports to the sales team, supporting integrated marketing as needed
  • Track competitive set on a weekly basis, identifying new prospects and providing campaign focus for those brands
  • Share weekly digest of real time relevant industry news with sales team ━ extracting key stories from newsletters and B2B publications
  • Work closely with Client Services team to understand and communicate success metrics in the prospecting process
  • Develop a strategy for “quiet” time communication to clients and prospects that elevates personal and company worth to clients and prospects

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B sales support role, preferably in a media company
  • College degree required
  • Effective verbal and written communication with clients and teammates that creates high-value results
  • Outstanding organization with attention to detail that comes naturally
  • Team-oriented mindset, taking pride in playing your part and helping others achieve their goals
  • Independent work ethic and self-driven to take initiative
  • Genuine interest in advertising and media solutions
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites (Excel/Spreadsheets, Word/Docs and Powerpoint/Slides)
  • Direct work in a cloud-based CRM executing sequencing programs preferred and a big plus
  • Active participant in a positive work culture
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required
  • Savvy mindset around all things travel, with an exceptional knowledge of geography, both domestic and global
