Position: Safety Compliance Coordinator – Brokerage

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Safety Department Director, the Safety Compliance Coordinator – Brokerage is responsible for compliance of all Independent Service Provider Insurance, DOT, and Contractor services. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all DOT records in compliance with FMCSA requirements and all insurance records in compliance with regulations and company policy
  • Check audit daily carrier approval or denial activity
  • Daily emails received for carrier approval or denial for all lines of business
  • Run daily insurance report-remove deactivate carriers from McLeod and Carrier 411. Monday and Friday send report to Brokerage to advise of carriers that could have insurance issues
  • Daily imaging of documents
  • Weekly report of all new carriers-check to make sure actively monitoring
  • Prepare ISP compliance review reports for review by the Safety leadership
  • Audit all safety qualifications dependent on DOT and client specific requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managers
  • Communicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systems
  • Requires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasks
  • Must be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Work in a “Confidential Capacity”
  • Must have ability to handle heavy workload
  • Excellent writing & proof reading skills as well as superior verbal & organizational skills
  • Goal oriented, self-managing with time & project consideration

Skills:

  • Ideal candidate will possess a “can do" attitude with a “will do" work ethic
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge with RMIS & Mcleod preferred
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
