POSITION: Resident Services Coordinator

PROGRAM/LOCATION: Willow Housing Menlo Park, CA

SUPERVISOR: Program Manager

STATUS: Full-time/Non-exempt


PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Willow Housing Project will provide a safe and supportive environment for formerly homeless and at-risk veterans to receive a comprehensive array of support and community services that will help them maintain their housing and increase their self-sufficiency.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Activity Coordination (70%)

Drop-In Resident Support Services (30%)


  • Communicate and collaborate with the residents to understand and respond to resource needs
  • Liaise with the VA and HUD-VASH case managers to understand and respond to resident needs
  • Liaise with property management staff to understand and respond to resident needs, as well as schedule space for resident activities
  • Develop links with the local community by networking with service organizations, faith¬ based institutions, corporations, foundations, locally-based community agencies, businesses, and schools
  • Coordinate on-site adult education, health, and wellness, or skill-building classes and recreational activities for residents
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly calendar and workshop on on-site services and activities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the other programs regarding volunteer and client information
  • Provide annual assessments following agency best practices for all clients on the caseload
  • Utilize the database provided by HomeFirst to track and report the necessary client outcomes
  • Maintain all required documents and records necessary to ensure the quality of services to all clients served
  • Coordinate and supervise off-site enrichment activities quarterly
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education and Experience:

  • BA or equivalent experience in human services or a related field preferred
  • Minimum six months experience in human services

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of formerly homeless and at-risk veterans
  • Desire to work with people of diverse social backgrounds and professional rank
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resources and human services
  • Experience networking in the local community
  • Initiative, flexibility, and the capacity to respond effectively in all situations
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of office applications and the internet
  • Valid CA driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
