Job Description


The Research Specialist II will be a part of the Dr. Chris Lorson Lab in the Bond Life Sciences Center. This position will support several externally funded projects including a NIH R01 focused upon the genetics and biochemistry of a rare neurodegenerative disease called SMA with respiratory distress. This individual will work with recombinant protein to study the kinetics of various protein/protein interactions, express/purify protein, run western blots etc. Additionally, the position will do microscopy work under the supervision of senior graduate students and will participate in the mouse colony maintenance for breeding, genotyping etc.

Restricted Clause: This is a time-limited position, contingent upon the availability of funding.

Salary


$17.96/hour - $33.18/hour

Grade: 8

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
