Where you fit in
The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) at Community East is an 18-bed unit that cares for complex patients including, but not exclusively, cardiac. If you are interested in gaining experience with both medical and surgical patients, this unit offers the opportunity to gain a broad range of nursing experience in both areas. The CPCU offers a collaborative culture and a nurse manager that prioritizes relationship building.
On the CPCU, you will gain experience with diagnoses including Acute MI, CHF, arrhythmias, pacemakers, vasoactive and insulin infusions, PTCA, BIPAP, Optiflow, drug and alcohol overdose and withdrawal, hyperkalemia, amongst other complex diagnoses.

Your exceptional skills
Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network; demonstration of skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources
Your exceptional qualifications
- Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
