Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in an autonomous manner by utilizing a systematic approach to nursing practice. This includes incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PHNS policy. Education/Experience: Graduate from course of study in nursing resulting in a minimum of an associate degree/diploma in nursing. One or more years experience infusion nursing Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Strong clinical and human relations skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PHNS. Keyboarding skills preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients. Must maintain a current state registered nurse license. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Role may require completion of the ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy course or equivalent 2 day course. Preferred certification in oncology nursing.

Additional Information:

Infusion position open at our St. louis Park location. Responsible for starting peripheral IVs, accessing ports/PICCS, starting and managing infusions as well as infusion reactions. Medications infused are non-oncology infusion (Rheumatology, GI and neurological conditions). Bachelors in Nursing and experience with starting peripheral IV and managing infusions preferred.
