Duties and Responsibilities


  • Strong knowledge in the safety, operation, and maintenance of an ammonia refrigeration plant
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, structure, and dock systems
  • Create a planned maintenance schedule and provide a budget for those items
  • Create an inventory of part with a system for adding, removing, and ordering with in AMOS
  • Work with and supervise maintenance staff and vendors
  • Insure the safety of the staff and the customers’ products
  • Perform light welding
  • Maintain logs of facility equipment
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean facility / shops
  • Create Jobs and order in AMOS system
  • Create and document maintenance processes
  • Use Lock Out Tag out and other best safety practices
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to cross train on all aspects of facility maintenance
  • Strong computer skills

Education/Experience Required


Minimum 5 years’ Industrial refrigeration experience

Strong electrical background and experience

Associate’s or related degree preferred

EPA refrigeration certificate

ASTI (Ammonia Safety & Training Institute) or equivalent trained

Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building construction trades


Work Schedule


Salary Range DOE - $65,000 - 90,000

This position works a 4-months on 2 months off Schedule with one scheduled day off per week

Generally, 70+ hours a week with irregular work periods while in Dutch Harbor

24 hour on-call required when in Dutch Harbor
