Comprehensive Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Specialist provides care and service to a specific group of adult and geriatric patients consistent with standards of practice. The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Specialist demonstrates advanced cardiovascular knowledge and the skills necessary to manage situations and problems inherent to invasive cardiac studies and procedures performed within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. As a member of the Cardiac Cath Lab Team, provides quality patient focused care and service within a dynamic, complex technical environment.

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Specialist works closely with a team of exceptional cardiologists who help to foster a supportive work environment through implementing cohesive teamwork strategies and maintain dedication to their practice.   • Staff are on call for emergency cases only, such as STEMI cases.
  • There are potential opportunities for professional growth through cross training, education, quality initiatives programs, and certification.
  • The position is Monday – Friday with on call for emergency cases only.
  • This position offers flexible scheduling, with rotating 5 day 8-hour shifts, or 4 day 10-hour shifts in accordance with each candidate’s preference.
  • For motivated and dedicated new graduates, we will provide an intensive and competent program for on-the-job training with the commitment to grow with the team and gain the know and experience to be successful.
  • For more experienced candidates, we also provide and extensive, comprehensive orientation phase to support each candidate’s success.
  • Sign on bonus available is available as well as increased and competitive call pay!

Status: Full-time

Hours per biweekly pay period: 77.5

Shift: 8a-4p

  • There are two dedicated Cath Labs, both of which have state-of-the-art equipment/monitoring. This gives the department access to some the best tools for diagnosing and treating cardiac patients.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiology Tech Program
  • One-year of radiology experience required
  • Cardiac catheterization lab experience preferred
  • Specialty certification preferred

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

  • Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates a high level of clinical and professional accountability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt readily to a rapidly changing, highly technical, complex computerized environment.
  • Skill in successful conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively during stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a patient population of diverse educational, cultural, spiritual, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Computer literacy.
