JOB DESCRIPTION

A G Specialty Foods, a growing grab-n-go food manufacturer located in Happy Valley, Oregon is looking to add Quality Control Techs to its team. JOB TITLE: Quality Control Technician

REPORTS TO: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

SUMMARY: The Quality Control Technician will ensure the integrity of ingredients and consistent production quality by enforcing good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), conducting analysis, validating processes, and providing documentation. This position will fill an essential role in monitoring quality programs through regular process checks.

SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday to Thursday, Saturday from 10am-630pm; OT, as needed

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Receive leadership and daily direction from the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.

· Enforce GMP and Food Safety policies to ensure that A G Specialty Foods quality standards are always maintained.

· Conduct product, label, and packaging inspections.

· Support operational needs with Food Safety, Quality Consistency, and GMP’s.

· Audit, verify and follow up on process control such as finished product weight checks to ensure packaged weights meet customers and regulatory standards.

· Perform in-process cGMP checks (personnel cGMP, production line check, proper tools, and chemical storage etc.)

· Perform cleaning and sanitation verification, including ATP swabbing of the production equipment and allergen swab testing.

· Perform environmental monitoring

· Perform equipment calibration

· Assist in the monitoring of ingredients and finished product specifications.

· Perform finished product label verification.

· Maintain daily retention sample procedure for finished goods item.

· Notify plant leadership of non-conformances.

· Conduct QA line audits & GMP inspections.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties as directed by the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prefer 1-year prior experience in a Food Processing facility, in Quality or related role.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent attendance / punctuality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

· High School diploma or equivalent required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Continually required to stand, walk, and sit

· Continually exposed to cold (non-weather) refrigeration/freezers – 38 degree operating environment.
