The Role
Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Specific CVN 80/81 Program job description: Develop Quality Analysis Improvement Plans using statistical methods and analysis to improve "first time quality" of CVN New Construction. Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to Shop and CVN Ship Assembly Products. Identify trends, investigate root causes and track corrective actions to closure.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
NNS Apprentice School graduate

Nice to Have
Prefer a candidate with significant Construction/Trade experience. Candidate should: be able to guide diverse groups of people in solving complex quality and production problems, have excellent organizational skills that allow them to work on multiple projects at once, have advanced analytical skills as well as EXCEL and Company Data Collection System experience (i.e Cognos) that will assist with identification of trends and subsequent corrective actions, have excellent communication skills to enable Quality Improvement throughout the Value Stream and at all levels of leadership.
