The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR), is seeking a Programs & Reentry Specialist. This position assists the Inmate Programs and Reentry (IPR) Executive Assistant, Assistant Director, and Deputy Assistant Director in supporting the Counseling and Treatment Services(CTS), Religious services, Education, and Programs Systems Bureaus with monitoring, completing special projects, and daily office management activities.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinates delivery and distribution of ordered materials
  • Develops and maintains electronic and physical filing systems
  • Manages telephone inquiries, correspondence, and calendars appointments
  • Tracks and completes special projects, documents, compiles information, and ensures all assignments are completed in a timely manner
  • Participates in procurement activities utilizing the procurement system
  • Monitors purchasing, budget, and record keeping
  • Manages administrative projects for the Inmate Program and Reentry Division, including scheduling meetings, events, and appointments, and coordinates travel arrangements
  • Completes special projects for Bureau Administrators
  • Provides support to the IPR Human Resources (HR) Liaison
  • Gathers and prepares documents in response to public information requests and subpoenas
  • Researches, reviews, and responds to a wide variety of correspondence
  • Organizes and/or compiles information into concise reports, coordinating the submission of information from various entities
  • Attends meetings, develops agendas and minutes, and represents administrators at meetings/seminars
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive staff issues/concerns
  • Drives on state business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
  • Personal computers and various computer software applications including Microsoft Office and Google suite
  • Office, budget, and fiscal management principles and practices
  • General administrative services
  • Principles and practices of project development and implementation

Selective Preference(s):

Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience equivalent to or above the Administrative Assistant III (AAIII) level in fields such as budget analysis, purchasing, data processing, or related administrative services work

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
