Job Description

As the Granite Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's granite schedule and ensuring that all installation deadlines are met, while providing excellent service to customers in a timely and cost-efficient manner. You will be tasked with maintaining a positive company image through your efficient management of operations.

In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all company procedures are adhered to throughout all operational activities in the shop. This includes supporting and continuously improving the quality, growth, and profitability of the company.

You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members. What You Will Do:

  • Promote integrity, ethics, and honesty across all levels of the company
  • Champion the company's values, mission, and vision
  • Coordinate and direct Granite Shop operations in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Increase Granite Shop revenue and profitability by optimizing productivity and minimizing rework
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience to promote a positive company image
  • Maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Improve efficiency and quality by implementing effective operating methods
  • Directly oversee the Granite installation team
  • Recommend process and equipment modifications to improve efficiencies, quality, and safety
  • Enhance employee morale and skill levels by following human resource policies
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer merit increases fairly and timely
  • Provide necessary information to sister departments and hold regular departmental staff meetings
  • Oversee shop layout to ensure a smooth manufacturing flow
  • Assist with capital equipment purchases and maintain a proper balance in the shop

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the granite industry, with 5+ years of production/manufacturing management experience preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively lead in an operational environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time-management, planning, and administrative skills
  • High level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with customers and staff
  • High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

What You Will Experience:

This position is within an office environment and on occasion is required to be on the shop floor. This position includes:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and using hands and arms to operate office and field equipment.
  • Spatial vision is required to determine specific requirements from customer/contractor prints and computer programs as applicable.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs., occasionally 75lbs +
  • Must be able to utilize stairs.
