Mental Health Field Team

Description:
The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. (MHACG) is seeking to fill the position of a Field Support Team member. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with full benefits and an annual salary from mid to high forties. Some evenings and weekends may be required at times. The worksite is in Hudson, New York with job activities taking place throughout Columbia County. Job duties focus on engaging and supporting clients throughout Columbia County who may be either homeless or situated in nontraditional settings. This could include public parks and streets, area motels, and other outdoor locations. The clients often have ongoing involvement with mental health services, hospital emergency rooms, and law enforcement. The goal of the Field Support Team is to provide regular contact and support to these individuals in order to ensure that they have necessary food, shelter, and transportation. The job includes helping to monitor and support these individuals in making scheduled medical/behavioral/social service appointments. The Field Support Team staff will report to the Division Director of Clinical and Rehabilitation Services at MHACG and work closely with the Columbia County Department of Social Services’ Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a social service, health care, or counseling discipline is preferred. Equivalent work experience may substitute for educational degree in some circumstances. Experience in providing direct service in the mental health or social service field and linking clients to services in the community is necessary. Proficiency in, or ability to learn, online technology systems is critical. Must have a current driver’s license with no recent violations. Must be able to work regularly outside the office and in the field to engage with clients. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A clear, detailed cover letter describing your interest and relevant experience in the position must accompany your resume. Prefer a strong familiarity with all areas of Columbia County and the agencies that operate in the county. Experienced peer specialists strongly encouraged to apply.
