Statement of Job :The Certified Medication Aides/Technicians (C.M.A.) will make a positive contribution to the lives of our residents by providing them with assistance with medication administration and their activities of daily living (A.D.L’s) on a daily basis.

Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:

Resident Care and Services:As a new hired team member you will be relied upon to deliver exceptional, responsive and individualized care to our residents. You will be asked to provide medications administration oversight on a daily basis.

Also, reviewing and following a written care plan, Medication Administration Records (M.A.R.'s) for daily care to residents is needed to make sure that each resident will be cared for properly. All C.M.A.'s will provide personalized and appropriate care according to resident preferences, observe resident functioning and report any change in condition or behavior to supervisor and answer pages promptly according to the established protocol.

C.M.A’s will make rounds in community as assigned while assisting in medication as well as measure and record vital signs, blood sugars, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc. when requested.

Communication:We listen to, learn from, and communicate with our residents, family members and each other in a timely and honest manner. We review the communication logs before and after every shift for any special instructions. Reporting information verbally or in writing to oncoming shift to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and continuity of care.

Responding to supervisor appropriately and timely is a MUST. Listening attentively and ask clarifying questions, if needed, to ensure all parties understand the message. Interact with family members in a thoughtful and compassionate way is a MUST.
