JOB TITLE: Mechanical Maintenance II

SALARY: According to placement on current compensation table

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month year

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures for evaluating non-licensed staff

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager-Facilities
Assistant Operations Manager-Facilities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Broad range of experience in building trades including electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical systems

Certificates/Licenses:
1. Must hold a valid Colorado Driver’s License at all times

JOB SKILLS and ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrates ability to use appropriate hand and power tools
2. Demonstrates the ability to read, understand and interpret manuals, blueprints and instructions
3. Demonstrates a high level of mechanical aptitude
4. Demonstrates ability in performing mathematical calculations to cost out projects

5. Demonstrates ability to learn and utilize computer hardware and software, including
Micro Soft Programs as it relates to job assignments

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Installs and repairs plumbing of all material types in buildings, crawl tunnels and outside pits; above and below ground
2. Installs and repairs electrical systems up to 480V
3. Installs and repairs pneumatic control systems
4. Calibrates and adjusts pneumatic and electrical controls
5. Operates, repairs and adjusts low pressure boilers
6. Cost out projects and makes appropriate recommendations regarding methods and materials, as well as work with contractors
7. Evaluates and repairs mechanical equipment and makes replacement recommendations as necessary
8. Operates sewer cleaning equipment
9. Operates power equipment including but not limited to jackhammer, angle drill, metering gauges and sewer camera
10. Performs preventive maintenance on building equipment as assigned
11. Performs snow removal as assigned including, but not limited to plowing, shoveling and removal
12. Answers service calls and performs assigned project work in a timely manner
13. Operates and understand the District’s current controls system
14. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards change
15. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with co-workers, and interact with colleagues in a professional manner
16. Performs such other tasks as may, from time to time, be assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Certain positions within the District may impose additional physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; taste and smell; and talk and hear. The employee may also need to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee occasionally must work in dark, tight, confined places. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.15 - $23.00 per hour
