General Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (8am-5pm)


Exempt/Nonexempt: Non-Exempt (hourly) 1.0 FTE


Department: Facilities


Reports To: Executive Director


Revision/Review Date: March 15, 2023


SUMMARY: This role will be responsible for maintaining both the Luverne and Worthington SWMHC facilities and grounds.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of maintenance/handyman experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Completes work orders as assigned.
  • Painting office areas and frequent touch up as needed
  • Completes preventative maintenance assignments and documents accordingly.
  • Responds individually to on-call needs of the facility.
  • Coordinates facility fire drills.
  • Removes snow and ice from sidewalks and appropriate areas.
  • Removes trash and debris from sidewalks and outside grounds.
  • Maintains outside grounds, including lawn sprinkler irrigation systems.
  • Inspects buildings, grounds, equipment, and physical environment.
  • Maintains records of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintains and orders maintenance supplies and repair items
  • Coordinates repairs with outside agencies when necessary and ensures completion in a timely fashion.






REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit and climb or balance.
  • The employee will occasionally be lifting up to 60 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED COMMUNICATION/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING SKILLS:


  • Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
  • Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer within the Windows operating system.
  • This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • May be exposed to communicable diseases when working in a health care environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to sharps or cuts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, compression, impact, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of radiation.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Location: Managed Facility · SWMHC Worthington
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 8am-5pm but will need flexibility in case of weather and facility need.
