• Mad Science is hiring after-school STEM club instructors. Instructors train and exchange teaching equipment at our location in Phoenix and teach after-school programs at school sites all around the Phoenix area. We are specifically hiring people who live in, or are willing to drive to, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and/or the South Mountain area. We do pay for mileage!
• For over 30 years, we have delivered unique, hands-on science experiences for children through our after-school programs, birthday parties, workshops, special events, and summer camps. Our innovative programs are as entertaining as they are educational!

• As a Mad Scientist, you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us. Mad Science is the world’s leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children.
• Pay starts at $35 per one-hour class, plus a 0.30 cent to a mile mileage coverage. Opportunity for higher pay available depending on your experience. There are bonuses for big classes and classes longer than one hour.
• Mad Science provides other programs including birthday parties and school assemblies with higher pay and varying schedules, available to instructors who are interested in more hours.
• This job is part-time, about 2-5 hours a week, and we're happy to work with your schedule as much as we can. It's a great job for teacher's aides, retirees, students, and people with morning shifts at other jobs.
• During the school year, instructors teach one class per day in the afternoon. Most classes start between 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM and run for one hour. Instructors choose how many days per week they want to work.

• Facilitating safe, fun after-school science clubs using Mad Science's lesson plan and materials
• Keeping track of your class start times and schedules with the use of our calendar and automated emails
• Come to the Mad Science office on Thomas Rd and 28th St once a week at most to exchange lesson materials and receive training

• A reliable vehicle
• Some experience with managing groups of children. Teacher, classroom aide, camp counselor, summer school teacher, etc.
• Availability between 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM two or more days each week
• Have or be able to obtain an Arizona DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card, which includes a background check

• Fun: Teach exciting, interactive weekly STEM classes without the homework, grading, or long days of a classroom teacher- a science background is great but not required
• Flexible schedule: You choose your available days, and pick which program offers you accept
• Educational: You don't need to have a science background to be a Mad Scientist! We provide all training, lesson plans, and materials Many instructors find the content just as interesting as the kids
