Machine Operator

3rd Shift

Pay Range: $24.48/hr - $26.01/hr + $2.00/hr Shift Premium

Hours: 9:00pm – 5:30am (Overtime as production demands)

Responsibilities

• Develop your personal and professional skills on a continuous basis to ensure you are fully developing your God-given talents
• Consistently manufacture “great tasting” sausage products according to specifications that are enjoyed by millions of people around the world
• Work with a team to obtain superlative performance results in safety, quality, member development, OPE, yields, and other efficiencies
• Be a part in making Johnsonville the Best Company in the World through active participation in our daily GRILL meetings and project teams
• Set goals and objectives through a Personal Development Commitment; both personal and as a Team Member to achieve "superlative" performance in order to support The Johnsonville Way
• Act like an owner: create ideas, own projects, lead other members and etc.

Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

• The specific job duties may change as this new process is further defined
• Distinguish non-acceptable and acceptable quality products
• Proper set up of production equipment for running by locking out machinery
• Use SAP software to transfer materials
• Idea generation to improve processes to achieve superlative performance
• Assist with rework in the stuffing area by maintaining acceptable levels
• Manage rework percentage, product weight, and adjust accordingly
• Setup, run and teardown the equipment in your area
• Complete production documentation accurately
• Complete kontura skill blocks in a 12 month period

Skills and Competencies:

• Take ownership for your own personal safety and the safety of all Members working around you
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability and openness to work in other production line/rooms within the facility when this specific line is not running production
• Proactive team player with strong written and verbal communication skills are required
• Ability to document job responsibilities and be part of writing and maintaining DPS’s
• Maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license and keep a safe driving record
• Must be able to work independently and have the ability to multi-task
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have a very keen eye for visual inspection purposes
• Ability to read and understand a production schedule
