We are seeking a Loan Document Specialist for one of our 3 locations: Yoakum, Odessa or San Antonio

Job Function:

The Loan Document Specialist will be responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documentation according to approved terms and conditions and loan policy. Position will be responsible for working with lending staff to resolve or clarify any possible deficiencies in loan packages presented for document preparation or review.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all necessary functions for document preparation, including, but not limited to: comprehensive file review for commercial, consumer and real estate secured loans. Compliance documentation for consumer real estate, and vendor work included with requests. Generating new loan documentation through Laser Pro and providing closing packages to title companies and/or lending assistants as necessary.
  • File review of collateral files/supporting documentation for existing and renewed loan requests for documentation preparation.
  • Prepare loan documentation revisions/changes as requested.
  • Email lending assistant/lender any deficiencies, discrepancies or missing documents needed to complete the request.
  • Review loan approval for verification of appropriate lending authority, adherence to policy requirements and rate and structure requirements on Consumer Loans.
  • Verify all CIP information for borrower or supporting entity documentation has been provided and satisfies policy requirements.
  • Self-review transaction and documents against loan approval.
  • Send documents to Title Company or lending assistant/lender.
  • Complete Collateral Perfection of lien (if applicable).
  • Placing holds on internal deposit accounts (cash secured loans).
  • Provide excellent customer service to lending staff and co-workers.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Prior loan documentation experience which includes consumer, commercial and real estate loans. Experience with TRID documentation preferred.
  • Must have a developed understanding of business entity document requirements and perfecting various collateral liens.
  • Working knowledge of consumer real estate compliance requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Laser Pro
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (e.g., create new documents, edit existing files, create tables, sort/filter data, print documents, generate new records, email and calendaring)
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to take direction.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations
  • A strong commitment to customer service, ability to multi-task in dynamic business environment, able to meet constant deadlines.
  • Ability to independently identify resolutions to documentation and/or deadline issues.
  • Written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and composition
  • Must have ability to prioritize a variety of tasks, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Financial Services: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Loan Documentation Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Working with Laser Pro a plus
  • NuPoint experience a plus
