Our Texas-based real-estate development firm is growing our in-house Engineering Department! We need a Director of Entitlement to lead our growing team. This role will manage a multitude of front end entitlement processes for varying projects including land planning, MUD district applications, coordination with various municipalities, development agreements, and planned developments.

Civil Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
  • Perform Site Investigations, Due Diligence and Feasibility Studies for projects.
  • Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies.
  • Serve as a potential point-of-contact on land development project for Clients, review agencies, contractors, and internal planning surveying, and geotechnical departments.
  • Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including but not limited to site investigation reports, quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Provide training/mentoring for junior members of the team.
  • Assist management of project and staff schedules.
  • Attend meetings with Clients, review agencies, and contractors throughout the various stages of the land development process.
  • Perform site visits and prepare associated field reports.

Civil Engineer Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proficient in the following design software:
  • Civil 3D
  • Corridors
  • 3d Grading Tools
  • Site development
  • Planning
  • Schematic design/Residential Layouts
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of qualifying civil engineering design and project management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of single family residential development.
  • Thorough knowledge of infrastructure financing districts such as PIDSs, MUDs, and TIRZ

Pay: From $140,000.00 per year
