Position Description:
The ISG Cross-Divisional Governance group within ISG Business Unit Risk Management is a 1st line team responsible for governing the Global Model Control, Trader Mandate, Booking Model, and Trading Risk Limit Governance functions within Morgan Stanley.

These in-business risk management teams partner with internal and external control groups to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:
This specific role is to be part of the Limit Governance Team focused on governance and oversight of the Firm’s Risk Limit Framework. The candidate would be expected to undertake a wide range of duties which include building trusted relationships, helping set priorities of the Program, and supporting the Program Lead in developing solutions and spearheading transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the process of the Limit Governance Program which includes monitoring compliance through investigation of alerts, escalation of exceptions to policies and assisting with their resolution
  • Identifying key metrics and assisting in the design and implementation of reports
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements of existing control framework and participate in projects to enhance controls
  • Working with stakeholders to maintain and manage the Limit Framework
  • Leading various projects and building consensus among stakeholders across the organization
  • Maintaining the policies and procedures in line with evolving standards
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support continuous improvement of the control processes
  • Preparing materials for and presenting key MI to senior management at the Limit Governance Committee

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree is a plus
  • 3+ years relevant industry experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong risk and control mindset
  • Effective interpersonal and leaderships skills with the confidence to present to senior management
  • Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Sensitivity to detail and accuracy in everyday work

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
