The Ideal Candidate Has The Following Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college/university
• Advanced degree desirable
• CPA desirable
• Five (5) - Seven (7) years of State Sales and Use Tax Expereince
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills with ability to communicate technical subjects to a non-tax audience
• Awareness of current indirect tax developments; understanding of key indirect tax processes and data drivers.
• Working knowledge of Vertex Sales Tax software a plus
• Understanding of the end-to-end business processes and accounting flows
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.

The Indirect Tax Manager's Scope of Responsibility Includes:

• Provide day to day tactical guidance to operations on sales, use and property tax issues including classifications, exemptions, and systems.
• Investigate Indirect Tax planning opportunities and lead Indirect tax planning projects for the Segment.
• Uphold sales & use tax policy and procedures and update them for changes in operations or law.
• Review quarterly testing of indirect tax SOX controls and recommend remediation if needed.
• Update and conduct training for segment operations.
• Identify indirect tax audit risks and identify opportunities to mitigate exposures.
• Lead planning for indirect tax issues associated with merging legal entities and ERP systems.
• Manage outside property tax consultants and act as liaison with ledger controllers.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
• Manage and develop one direct report Sales Tax Analyst.
• Assist Corporate Tax with audits related to Rig ledgers
• Potential to assist with Segment VAT and GST issues, coordinating with International Tax.
