Summary:

BVSD is looking for a critical thinker and problem solver to work in their IT hardware repair and system troubleshooting operations center. This individual should be a self-starter and have great communication skills as they will be contributing to a highly collaborative team environment. Having knowledge of hardware repair on various platforms such as Chromebooks, Windows, and MacIntosh is preferred. BVSD supports roughly: 7,000 Windows PCs, 3000 Apple Devices, 30,000 Chromebooks, 1000+ projectors/peripherals.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair of Chromebooks, Windows, and Apple devices and miscellaneous peripheral equipment and systems; determine reason(s) for equipment failure and initiate appropriate action, communicate with schools and departments.

  Follow vendor repair procedures, perform warranty and non-warranty repairs and warranty claims submissions with vendors. Obtain vendor service certifications and keep it in good standing.
• 
  Maintain logs, records, files and controls of the maintenance performed on all equipment to look for trends/patterns for manufacturer recalls. Utilize the IT Service Request system to maintain incident tickets.

  Interface and assist BVSD Customer Service Technicians with field equipment repairs and maintain repair stock levels by working with third-party vendors.
• 
  Interact, communicate and teach BVSD’s Hardware Repair interns on how to repair the various manufacturer’s devices.
  
• Assist the Director of Hardware Services in implementing and maintaining district-wide student led repair centers; maintain replacement part stock levels; teach students and staff how to properly repair certain devices.
• 
  Maintain the professional flexibility, competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
• 
  Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma plus specialized technical courses in business, technical, or vocational school related to a trade or skill, such as computer programming, or technical certifications
• Minimum of two years experience in: hardware repair and troubleshooting
• ITIL Foundation; must acquire within 12 months
• Manufacturer Self Maintainer Certification; must acquire within 6 months of hire
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Completed and submitted BVSD online application
• Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.

Preferred:

• ServiceNow and Google Admin experience

Salary Information:

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

• Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
