About the Role

We are hiring a Global Purchasing Manager to oversee BioIntelliSense’s purchasing strategies. This role will be responsible for global purchasing initiatives, inventory control, and supplier setup and management. The ideal candidate is a highly strategic and analytical and a strong collaborator who will achieve an end result that supports the broader functional goals of the Company.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide the company with optimal inventory levels, lead-times, supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Analyze data and review current inventory levels to determine purchasing patterns and handle inventory projections.
  • Run and analyze reports and data to coordinate finished goods and raw material purchases, coordinate delivery schedules, and address changes and issues that may arise.
  • Clearly communicate variances of purchasing to plan, anticipating forecasting of inventory levels, lead times, and making clear recommendations to senior management on financial and operations impact of inventory and purchasing variability.
  • Working closely with Quality Assurance on the setup and management of Company Suppliers.
  • Identify and implement methods for improving purchasing and supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier forecasts and work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Support quarterly cycle counts and year end physical counts within each global location and the analysis and communication of any variance the arise from each count.
  • Focuses on minimizing cost and maximizing value in the procurement and planning process by applying best/leading practices across area of responsibility.
  • Identify, communicate, and help resolve material shortages.
  • Evaluate manual Material Requirements Planning (MRP), recommend system changes and participate in new system design and implementation.
  • Keep up to date with the changes that may affect the supply and demand for products and materials.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Program Management, Operations, and R&D in planning for new items. Ensure quality and compliance processes are followed.
  • Working closely with the Head of Manufacturing to anticipate and coordinate of cross border purchasing issues and sourcing/supply chain challenges.
  • Ensure all required documents are approved and sent to Accounts Payable (AP) for timely invoice payment.
  • Develop procedures / processes and ensure compliance related to company’s quality system and governmental regulations.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business management or logistics
  • 7 years of experience in purchasing, inventory and/ or supply chain management
  • 3+ years experience as a manager of people and processes
  • Must have experience within the medical device industry
  • Experience functioning in a highly regulated environment, with working knowledge of FDA medical device requirements including 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485
  • Strong analytical and statistical knowledge
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturers
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and other online tools, as needed.
  • Strong ERP software experience, NetSuite preferred by not required. Understanding of system structure, transactions, and table structures, queries, and reporting is required
  • Continuous learning, improvement, and growth mindset; biased toward action, and committed to a quality driven approach
  • Resourceful: ability to prioritize and manage concurrent tasks across workstreams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred: current APICS-CSCP or CPIM Certification
Salary Expectations: Total compensation based on experience and location
Work Location: Golden, CO or Redwood City, CA preferred; Open to Remote
